Service Description

The Nile River is a north flowing river in northeast Africa. It is the primary water source for Egypt. The river used to flood annually, however the Aswan Dam was built in the 1960’s and since 1970, the flood has been controlled. However, the ancient civilizations depended on the annual flood to provide the only source of moisture for their crops. Ancient Egyptians believed that the Nile River was the path between life and death. For this reason, they built all tombs on the west side of the Nile. Egyptians believed the west bank was the place of death since the sun set in the west, while the east bank represented life or birth. The Nile River’s annual flooding was depended upon for the construction of the tombs and temples. Egyptian cotton, used in upscale bedding, is grown along the Nile River. Come join our guide and sail down the famous river Nile taking in the longest river in the world. We will see the vast difference between the East and West bank. If we are lucky, we will hear and get to see the water birds and farm animals sitting lazily along the Nile. All the while, our guide will share stories about the buildings and architecture along the way. This is a river cruise you will never forget! $79 for each additional screen (does not apply to corporate customers.) * This tour is not designed for our corporate customers.
