A Walk in Florence Center Among Markets, Art and Artists. Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. This tour starts in one of the many festive piazzas (city squares) lit up for the holidays. The Florence Light Festival will light the most famous monuments, churches, historical buildings and towers in town. While walking the decorated city streets, along with viewing the holiday window displays, our guide will share local Florentine traditions including the festivities, markets and foods that make the celebrations here so memorable. Our guide will stop in a local bar for a traditional holiday libation preparation. We end the tour at the magnificent Piazza del Duomo to view the holiday tree and the famous Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with a life-size nativity scene and statues made of terracotta.
