Join us on a captivating virtual walking tour that explores the rich history and significance of Juneteenth. This 60-minute experience will take you on a journey through the streets of Washington, D.C., where you'll learn about the events and landmarks that played pivotal roles in the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States.

  • (What will I be learning?) During this tour, you'll delve into the complex and often overlooked history of slavery, emancipation, and the ongoing struggle for civil rights. Our knowledgeable guide will provide insights into the Dred Scott decision, the Emancipation Proclamation, and the role of enslaved labor in the construction of iconic landmarks like the United States Capitol. You'll gain a deeper understanding of the significant impact Juneteenth had on the lives of millions of Americans and its enduring relevance today.
  • (Where will this tour begin?) Our virtual tour will commence at the Emancipation Memorial, also known as the Freedman's Memorial, a powerful statue located a few blocks behind the United States Capitol.
